Carrie Rodriguez is a classically trained fiddle-toting, mandoguitar-slinging Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter just beginning to flex her artistic muscles on her latest CD "She Ain't Me" (Manhattan/EMI).

Carrie has made several national TV/radio appearances on Austin City Limits (PBS-TV), Mountain Stage, World Café Live, among many others and was recently featured on the cover of Pollstar magazine.

The Roots Music Association 2009 Songwriter Of The Year (Folk Category) award winner.

Carrie has successfully shared bills with Lucinda Williams, Alejandro Escovedo, John Prine, Bruce Hornsby and many others.

Carrie's new CD "Live in Louisville" is available now in select stores and will be released digitally in November 2009.


Duke Robillard Featured On House of Blues Radio Hour, Ruthie Foster Featured On Mountain Stage, Carrie Rodriguez Repeats on Austin City Limits

Duke Robillard's new CD, Stomp! The Blues Tonight, will be featured on the House of Blues Radio Hour, beginning the weekend of July 18-19. The radio show currently has a limited number of autographed copies of the CD available for purchase. Duke describes the new disc as "Blues / classic-rhythm-and-blues, basically where I started in my Roomful of Blues days." Duke has recorded with and / or produced Bob Dylan, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John, John Hammond, Jay McShann, Ruth Brown, Jimmy Witherspoon, Rosco Gordon and Long John Baldry. The W.C. Handy Awards (recently renamed the Blues Music Awards) have named Duke "Best Blues Guitarist" four times and his production work was honored by The Blues Music Foundation in 2004 when he won the Keeping The Blues Alive Award for Best Producer.

Ruthie Foster returned to the Mountain Stage radio program on NPR, airing the weekend of July 10-12. Of her latest album, The Truth According to Ruthie Foster, The New York Times wrote, "She sounds long-suffering, forthright, resilient and thoroughly at home," while Paste magazine declared "There's no denying the power of Foster's monstrous voice..."

Carrie Rodriguez Live In Louisville CD Out Now

Carrie Rodriguez has just released Live In Louisville, a new CD featuring a full 12 song set from April 2007, recorded while touring with Lucinda Williams.  Two of the songs are released here for the first time: a cover of Bill Monroe’s “You Won’t Be Satisfied (That Way)” and the instrumental “Blackberry Blossom.”  Other highlights include “Big Kiss” and a rockin’ version of “50’s French Movie.”  Carrie says of this tour, “this was truly a life altering experience!”  The CD is available on Carrie’s website carrierodriguez.com, at her shows, and if you happen to live in Texas or Kentucky, Waterloo Records in Austin, TX and Ear X-tacy in Louisville, KY. Carrie Rodriguez Wins Folk Songwriter of the Year - NPR World Café Feature December 16th

Carrie Rodriguez has won Folk Songwriter of the Year in the 2008 Roots Music Awards presented by the Roots Music Association. Carrie will also be featured on World Café on NPR December 16th, 2008. Please check your local radio listings for the time or visit the NPR website.

All of this comes on the heels of her recent appearance on Austin City Limits where she shared the bill with Jakob Dylan. Carrie was also featured on the cover of Pollstar Magazine in October. Rosebud Artists Nominated For 2008 Roots Music Awards

The Roots Music Association has nominated four Rosebud artists in six categories for the 2008 Roots Music Awards. The awards will take place during the World United Music Festival in San Marcos, Texas November 14, 15, 16, 2008.

The Rosebud artists nominated are, for Blues Artist of the Year and for Blues Songwriter of the Year, Marcia Ball. For Folk Artist of the Year and for Folk Songwriter of the Year, Carrie Rodriguez. For Jazz Artist of the Year, Bill Frisell. For Zydeco Artist of the Year, Allen Toussaint.

Carri Rodriguez's New CD, She Ain't Me, Out August 5

Carrie Rodriguez’s latest CD, She Ain't Me, will be released August 5 on Manhattan/Back Porch records. Produced by Malcolm Burn, the album features fresh songwriting collaborations with Gary Louris (Jayhawks), Dan Wilson (Semisonic), Jim Boquist (Son Volt) and Mary Gauthier, with Carrie co-writing all but one track. Lucinda Williams, a big Carrie fan, sings backup on “Mask of Moses” while Gary Louris, Rich Stearns and Eric Platz also make guest appearances throughout the album. She Ain't Me features a stellar lineup of supporting players, including Hans Holzen (electric guitar), Greg Leisz, Kyle Kegerreis and Malcolm Burn. Watch for Carrie on Austin City Limits in late October.

Carrie Rodriguez Joins Alejandro Escovedo's Band This June Opening For Dave Matthews Band

Carrie Rodriguez will join Alejandro Escovedo’s band this June for nine high-profile U.S. concert dates, including six opening slot performances for the Dave Matthews Band and an appearance at the Wakarusa Festival. Carrie is set to play violin and sing background vocals in Escovedo’s lineup. Rodriguez will set out on her own tour throughout North America immediately following her performances with Escovedo, including a taping of her first appearance for PBS' Austin City Limits series in July.
